Gigi Hadid switched things up with a punk moment at the 2022 CFDA Awards. On Monday evening, the Council of Fashion Designers of America gathered fashion’s elite at Casa Cipriani South Street in New York to celebrate the icons and most influential fashion designers of the year.

The supermodel spiced things up for the star-studded occasion, wearing layers upon layers of Thom Browne tweed. Hadid wore a cropped white dress shirt under a check vest, topped off with a tweed blazer from the American brand.

The Guest in Residence founder also wore low-rise striped pants that revealed the waist of the brand’s (now viral) underwear, with Browne’s red, white and blue color palette matching the rest of his look . Hadid tied a braided rope belt around her hips with a gold anchor charm and finished off her look with white ankle socks and black oxford heels.

The model accessorized her outfit with stud earrings and a gold-tipped hoop nose ring from jeweler Maria Tash. She wore her blonde hair pulled back in a sleek, tight bun, and the highlight of her look was an edgy charcoal gray lip by makeup artist Patrick Ta. Hadid kept the rest of her glam bright and natural, letting the statement lip speak for itself.

Browne was nominated for American Menswear Designer of the Year along with Jerry Lorenzo for Fear of God, Mike Amiri for Amiri, Willy Chavarria and Emily Bode Aujla for Bode, the latter of whom took home the win .
