Langham Melbourne makes three appointments
The Langham, Melbourne has announced three new appointments to its team.
Karl Marshall takes on the role of hotel manager; Bibin Bobby has been promoted to Assistant Director of Food Beverage, while Kirby Pickrell has been appointed as the new Spa Director.
“Karl, Bibin and Kirby are all seasoned hospitality professionals and share a commitment to making every guest’s visit an experience to remember for all the right reasons,” said The Langham Melbourne General Manager Jeffrey van Vorsselen .

Originally from New Zealand, Marshall worked at the Grand Hyatt in Melbourne from 2001 to 2006 before spending more than a decade working overseas in Dubai, Tanzania, South Africa and most recently Oman, where he was Alila CEO Jabal Akhdar.
Bobby joined the company in December 2021 as Director of Banquet Operations after spending several years working in the luxury hotel market in Singapore. In his new role, he will oversee banquet operations in the dining room, Aria Bar Lounge and Melba Restaurant.
Pickrell brings five-star spa experience having worked at many respected spas in Australia including the Aurora Spa in St Kilda and the award-winning Gwinganna in Queensland.
Vista appoints director of sales and marketing
Vista Hospitality Group has appointed Raelene Ohlson as Director of Sales and Marketing for voco Brisbane City Center and Hotel Indigo Brisbane City Centre.
Ohlson brings extensive meeting and event experience from his time at leading MICE hotels including Hyatt Regency Coolum, Novotel Twin Waters Resort and various Crowne Plaza properties in Australia.
Her most recent roles include being Executive Director of Sales, Marketing and Hospitality at Alice Springs Turf Club, General Manager of Crowne Plaza Alice Springs and General Manager of Lancemore Macedon Ranges.
“I am delighted to be working with the teams at voco Brisbane City Center and Hotel Indigo Brisbane City Center and look forward to reintroducing the corporate events industry to the flexible conference facilities of these two unique and fantastic hotels in the heart of Brisbane “, he said.

InterContinental Fiji Executive Appointments
InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort and Spa has announced the appointment of several executives.
Akshay Singh has been appointed InterContinental Hotels Group’s (IHG) South Pacific area director of sales, marketing and revenue for South Pacific. David Bell has been appointed Director of Dining and Entertainment at InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort and Spa; while Mary-Louise Corcoran holds the position of Resort Manager at InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort and Spa.
“We are excited to have Akshay and Mary-Lou join the IHG family, and I would like to congratulate David on his well-deserved promotion,” said Lachlan Walker, Area General, South Pacific, IHG.
“All three are highly experienced professionals in their area of expertise and have made great contributions to the hospitality and tourism industry. The resort has big goals for the coming years in the areas of sustainability, growing and buying local produce, training Fijian leaders, focusing on the fundamentals of luxury service delivery and Akshay, Mary-Louise and David, without a doubt, they will be an integral part of achieving them”.
Singh, who brings more than 14 years of experience in commercial roles in the hospitality industry, will lead the commercial team to drive performance across IHG’s four properties in the region. Bell joined InterContinental Fiji in 2018 as Executive Chef. He will now be responsible for food and beverage operations at all of the resort’s restaurants, bars and venues. Corcoran joined the business this month, bringing more than 30 years of hospitality, gaming, project management and parliamentary experience.
Pullman Melbourne appoints executive chef
Erdigroup-owned Pullman Melbourne on Swanston has appointed Ashlee Skrzelinski as executive chef. She will run Eva’s Restaurant & Bar, Room 1954 and the hotel’s award-winning Club Lounge.
Skrzelinski joined Accor in 2016 and has worked at Novotel Melbourne Glen Waverley and Pullman Melbourne Albert Park, where he became head chef.
“I am delighted to be joining the Pullman Melbourne team in Swanston,” she said.
“The culture at the hotel and at Erdigroup is second to none. I also love working as a team and seeing the junior chefs grow and be inspired by the things we create together. It’s the most rewarding aspect of being a chef.”
Pullman Melbourne on Swanston launched in late 2019 after a $30 million transformation, and its restaurants have since built up a strong reputation.
Pullman Melbourne on Swanston general manager James Muscat welcomed Skrzelinski to the team.
“We look forward to seeing her put her own elevated spin on our heartfelt, homely, yet contemporary cuisine, while showcasing our exceptional culinary talent,” he said.
