VANCOUVER, CANADA, Nov. 08, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Novarc Technologies Inc. (“Novarc”), a full-stack robotics company focused on the development and commercialization of collaborative robots (“Cobots”) and AI based machines, specializing in vision solutions for autonomous welding, announced today that it is partnering with Lincoln Electric, the world’s leading manufacturer of advanced arc welding solutions and automated joining, assembly and cutting systems, to bring Novarc’s automated cobot tube welding solutions to expand.
As part of the partnership, Novarc will integrate Lincoln Electric’s welding technologies, including Lincoln’s patented root-pass Surface Tension Transfer® (STT®) technology and HyperFill® twin wire MIG welding solutions, into Novarc’s automated cobot tube welding solution. In addition, Lincoln Electric will promote Novarc’s Spool Welding Robot (SWR) for automated cobot process tube welding.
“We are excited to be collaborating with Lincoln Electric in the development and commercialization of our Spool Welding Robot® (SWR) and other new products in the fields of robotics and AI. Lincoln Electric is an established brand known as a global manufacturer of arc welding solutions and this new partnership is a natural evolution of our relationship to offer our mutual customers the leading automated cobot tube welding technology solutions,” said Soroush Karimzadeh, CEO of Novarc Technologies. “Our SWR solution has delivered over 400 percent productivity gains for customers in industries such as contract manufacturing and shipbuilding, and we expect to expand our collaboration with Lincoln Electric to include leading joint solutions such as SWR+HyperFill and the added value for customers will increase,” Karimzadeh stated.
“We look forward to working with Novarc to advance the most innovative and productive automated cobot welding and fabrication solutions for the process tubing industry,” said Bruce Chantry, Lincoln Electric vice president, marketing. “We anticipate this partnership will provide pipe fabricators with a high-quality automated solution with efficient, high-build welds and unmatched speed to reduce project timelines.”
Novarc’s SWR solution revolutionized tube welding when it was launched in 2017, automating tube welding and paving the way for the adoption of cobots in the welding industry. The SWR works in tandem with a human operator to increase productivity, weld quality and consistency, and customers typically see a return on investment of six to 18 months.
Novarc has experienced significant growth over the past three years; Doubling the number of team members and SWR sales this year. The agreement with Lincoln Electric will allow Novarc to collaborate on additional products, including AI and machine learning integration, which is expected to continue the growth trajectory.
