No. 16 Lubbock Christian University returns from Thanksgiving break with an exhibition game on Saturday hosting former NAIA Sooner Athletic Conference nemesis Oklahoma City. This match is the second and final exhibition match of the season for Lady Chaps. On October 29, LCU hosted and defeated the Southwestern Assemblies of God 91-57 in their first exhibition game of the season.

come back on sunday

LCU returns to regular season play on Sunday with a non-conference contest against Western Colorado. Tips are scheduled at 3pm inside the Rip Griffin Center. Since switching from NAIA to NCAA (2013-14 was LCU’s first season playing an NCAA schedule), this is LCU’s second season not competing in a holiday week tournament. The previous was 2020-21, a late start to the season due to COVID.

Five things about OCU
1 > The Stars participate in the tournament on a season 2-4 basis and are considering this tournament as an exhibition game due to their schedule. OCU has already had two Sooner Athletic Conference contests this season (0-2) and returns to conference action at Langston on Thursday.
2 > Oklahoma City finished the preseason ranked 7th in the SAC according to the 2022 preseason poll.

OCU plays six of its first seven regular season games away from home. The Stars are 2-2 in road games this season.
4> With 21 points (Nov. 12 vs. Friends) and 20 points (Nov. 17 vs. Texas Wesleyan) this season, Fiona Wilson leads the Stars with an average of 12.7 points per game this season.
5> Kris Seigenthaler is in her first season as head coach at OCU.

Series with OCU
Oklahoma City dominates the series with a 40-10 all-time record over LCU. Having won 5 of their last 9 meetings, The Stars would go on to 4 consecutive meetings until LCU surprised the Stars 77-64 to claim LCU’s inaugural 2013 Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament Championship (March 2, 2013). won the Postseason title. This is the third meeting between the two teams since LCU left SAC. On New Year’s Day 2015, LCU fell 85-81, which was LCU’s last loss at home inside the Rip Griffin Center.
