Is there anything the reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year, Pittsburgh Steelers’ TJ Watt, can’t do when he’s healthy?

The answer is yes, but in Week 11 of the 2022 NFL regular season against the Cincinnati Bengals at Acrisure Stadium, Watt put on an incredible play that surprised almost everyone, including the Bengals quarterback. Joe Burrow.

With the score tight at 24-20 and 5:27 left in the third quarter, Cincinnati ahead, the Bengals offense lined up with Burrow in the shotgun formation on 1st and 10 at their own 23 line. yards. On the snap, the Steelers pressed from the quarterback’s right. Burrow turned to hit Tyler Boyd on a cross route, quickly getting the ball out to beat the blitz. Suddenly, the ball was simply no longer visible.

Incredibly, Watt, who had been under pressure, timed things perfectly to grab the ball almost immediately after it was thrown.

Watt wasn’t even squared when he initially touched the ball and managed to secure it before falling to the turf with the interception which visibly cut the wind from Burrow’s sails.

Despite the craziness and brilliant post-INT celebration that saw Watt toss the ball in the air near the sideline and mimic shooting from the sky with finger guns with his teammates, the moment of elation from the Steelers didn’t last.

The offense could only make three plays deep into enemy territory before relying on Matthew Wright’s field goal to bring them within a point of their AFC North rivals.

Remarkably, Watt intercepted Burrow in the Steelers’ Week 1 win at Cincinnati. Watt had one interception and two passes defended in both games. While he had 1.0 sacks against Burrow in Week 1, Watt shared a sack on the Bengals QB in Week 11, almost mirroring his previous stats.
