Fantasy football 2022 rankings, draft prep: QB, WR, RB, TE picks, cheat sheets, ADP, tiers from computer model

Since his breakthrough 2018 season, leading all quarterbacks in fantasy points, Patrick Mahomes hasn’t matched that magical year. Mahomes, who has been in the top three of Fantasy Football’s QB rankings for the past three years, must now adjust to the departure of wide receiver Tyreek Hill. While he’s undoubtedly elite, should Mahomes be the first QB in the 2022 fantasy football rankings? If not, how should you approach a four-time Pro Bowler in preparation for the 2022 fantasy football draft If you’re looking for 2022 fantasy football advice, be sure to check out the 2022 fantasy football cheat sheet from SportsLine’s proven computer models.

Last year, the model accurately predicted running back Taylor’s Colts to be grossly undervalued. Taylor was drafted into running backs like Aaron Jones, Ezekiel Elliott and Ekeler, but SportsLine’s predictive models predict he’ll out-produce all of those backs and be a part of your fantasy football roster. Result: Taylor leads the NFL with 1,811 rushing yards and 18 rushing touchdowns to become the 2021 RB1 champion. This is just one example of a league-winning draft pick that the SportsLine model has always valued highly.

The numbers of fantasy football players like AJ Brown in 2020, Henry in 2019, McCaffrey and Alvin Kamara in 2018, and Davante Adams in 2017 have been high. Anyone pinning their hopes on a player like this could come out on top in the league.

The model was powered by the same people who generated predictions for all three major fantasy sites, and beat human experts last season when rankings varied widely. Forecasts are updated multiple times a day, so you always have the best fantasy football advice and the latest fantasy football ratings.

Top 2022 Fantasy Football QB Rankings

Here are SportsLine’s top three 2022 Fantasy Football QB draft picks:

1. Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills: The Bills quarterback is clearly the top QB in fantasy football the past two seasons, throwing for more than 4,400 yards each season and throwing a total of 73 touchdown passes ball, and 14 rushes. He’s a preseason pick for oddsmakers to be the 2022 NFL regular-season MVP for good reason. The possibility that Allen can pass and rush to 50 points this season isn’t out of the question.

2. Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs: While he only played four full seasons as a starter, if Mahomes retire today, he would be a strong bet for the Pro Football Hall of Fame. That’s what he’s been up to since 2018. In Mahomes’ four seasons as a starter, the Chiefs have played in at least the AFC Champions League, though that looks like a daunting task in 2022 in a strengthened AFC Champions League. With his most dynamic weapon, Tyreek Hill, now in Miami, the Chiefs’ QB’s passing touchdowns could be down from 37.5 over the past two seasons. Either way, a 4,500-yard, 30-plus-touchdown season is a virtual lock for a great game.

3. Lamar Jackson, Baltimore Ravens: Fantasy managers look back on Jackson’s 2019 MVP season with 36 touchdown passes, 1,206 rushing yards and seven rushing goals and look to Ravens quarterback for a huge job Repeats when the long-term contract is extended. Although Baltimore’s receiving team is weak outside tight end Mark Andrews, Jackson’s fantasy football predictions for 2022 are backed up by his quick stats. Playing just 12 games last year, Jackson rushed for almost 800 yards. Another 1,000-yard season seems almost certain, if healthy, making him one of the elite quarterbacks in this season’s fantasy draft. Check out more top QBs here.

Top 2022 Fantasy Football RB Rankings

Here are SportsLine’s top 3 fantasy football RBs for 2022:

1. Jonathan Taylor, Indianapolis Colts: As a 2020 rookie, Taylor had 253 rushing yards in the final game of the regular season and carried that momentum into the 2021 season. He’s a bona fide three-back who was so impressive last year that he relegated Niheim Hines to the bench with a pass. Taylor has 104 more touches in 2021 than he did in 2020, but his efficiency increases with his numbers. His yardage per carry and yardage per touch have increased, which is a big reason why the model ranked him at No. 1.

2. Austin Ekler, Los Angeles Chargers: The Chargers finally handed the reins to Ekler near the goal line in 2021, and the results may have left them wondering why they didn’t do it sooner. He threw more passes inside the 10-yard line (25) than the previous two seasons combined (21) and finished with 10 touchdowns at the position. Add to that his excellent catch and 70-647-8 receiving line and you have a complete running back of any league in the league.

3. Derek Henry, Tennessee Titans: In the eight games Henry played last year, the Titans averaged 32.5 rushing attempts per game. In nine games without Henry, the Titans averaged 32.3 points per game. So their offense is the same no matter who’s in the backcourt, but when a bot like Henry is carried, their offense looks exponentially better. Before Henry’s injury, Tennessee added a new wrinkle in using him in screens, as he had more catches and yards last year than the previous two years combined. Check out more top RBs here.

Top 2022 Fantasy Football WR Rankings

Here are SportsLine’s 2022 Fantasy Football WR top three:

1. Cooper Kupp, Los Angeles Rams: He’s coming off a historic season, ranking first in scoring, receiving yards and goal share with over 200 total goals. Koop leads the NFL with 16 touchdowns, which has only happened six times since 2007. While there may be some slight setbacks this season, Koop still deserves to be the first wide receiver.

2. Justin Jefferson, Minnesota Vikings: The Vikings have a new coaching staff, but most of their key offensive weapons are returning this year. Jefferson was eliminated in the preseason, which isn’t surprising considering his honor. During the player’s first two seasons, he had the most receiving yards in NFL history and was the second-highest scoring receiver in that span, according to Pro Football Focus.

3. Ja’Marr Chase, Cincinnati Bengals: Chase was able to break Jefferson’s record for most receiving yards in his rookie season, so he’s now aiming to break Jefferson’s record for most receiving yards in two years . Chase averaged 18.0 yards per catch, which was second in the NFL last year. He’s targeting higher rates during the playoffs, suggesting that young perimeter players aren’t at their best.
