*A three-year-old Georgia boy struggles to survive after accidentally shooting himself in the head. The child’s father was arrested over the heinous incident but says he was not to blame.

According to Law & Crime, Douglasville police arrested Porter and Martin over the weekend on the charge “cruel behavior toward a second-degree child, aggravated assault, reckless conduct, false statements and writings, and falsification of evidence” writes the outlet.

Cops said the couple and child were staying at an extended-stay hotel in Lithia Springs when Amir found the loaded gun in the room and accidentally shot himself. EMTs were called to an Intown Suites hotel on West Market Circle on the morning of January 21 and transported the injured boy to a local hospital.

Amir reportedly remains critical and his mother says “he’s getting a lot of exercise and the doctors are saying those are good signs,” Scott said WSB.

“I never thought I would be in this situation. I wouldn’t wish that pain on anyone,” she said.

According to Scott, her son was with his father and another woman when he was nearly fatally wounded.

“On January 21, 2023, while visiting his father, Amir, affectionately known as ‘Wuga,’ he allegedly gained access to a gun and shot himself in the head,” says Scott’s cousin Cherlonda Freeman in a GoFundMe campaign.

Our goal is to raise money for Ciera, Amir’s mother, to help with medical and any other expenses needed to support the care of Amir during this difficult time. The funds will be used so that the young single mother does not have to worry about finances at this moment. We want her to focus solely on the healing and recovery of her only child, Amir,” the campaign reads.

During a court hearing on Monday, Porter pleaded innocent, according to a video provided by WSB. Scott alleges Porter initially lied to first responders about the nature of her son’s injuries. He allegedly claimed the boy injured his head on the hotel’s mini-fridge. His story shattered when paramedics reportedly found a bullet hole in the motel room’s ceiling.
