SALT LAKE CITY – Jazz guard Mike Conley connected with back-to-back threes in the second half of Utah’s game against the Charlotte Hornets.
The Jazz hosted the Hornets at Vivint Arena on Monday, January 23rd.
With an 8:44 in the third quarter, the Ohio State veteran sunk a 25-foot jump shot to give Utah a 10-point lead. 20 seconds later, Conley took advantage of a Charlotte turnover by burying another shot from 25 feet. The second triple extended Utah’s lead to 69-56.

During his first 20 minutes on the hardwood, Conley had nine points on 3-8 shooting. He also recorded a rebound, a steal, and a block.
This season, Conley is averaging 10.4 points per game on 39.2 percent shooting, 36.8 percent of which is from long range. He also averages 2.4 rebounds, 7.5 assists, 0.5 blocks and 1.0 steals in 29.5 minutes per game.
Utah’s game against Charlotte will be broadcast on AT&T SportsNet, NBA League Pass and KSL Sports Zone.
Hornets vs Jazz
As they begin their game against the Hornets, the Jazz are one game under .500 and in the ninth seed in the Western Conference playoff race.
With a loss, Jazz would fall to 11th in the West, behind the Golden State Warriors and the Oklahoma City Thunder, both of whom are idle Monday night.
The Jazz would also sit just a half-game ahead of the Los Angeles Lakers for the 11th seed with a loss and could see the Portland Trail Blazers draw the same distance with a win over the San Antonio Spurs.
A Jazz win would push them back to .500, giving them a one-game lead over Golden State and Oklahoma City and putting them level with the Phoenix Suns. It would also move the team a half-game behind the idle Los Angeles Clippers for the sixth seed in the west.
The Jazz are once again without Kelly Olynyk, who sprained her ankle against the Memphis Grizzlies on Jan. 8.

Hornets have won twice in a row
The Hornets travel to Utah on their second two-game winning streak of the season after defeating the Houston Rockets and the Atlanta Hawks to begin their four-game road trip.
Charlotte most recently won back-to-back games on November 23 and 25 against the Philadelphia 76ers and the Minnesota Timberwolves.
