RPL welcomes Sales Representative Patty Peelen to its Newport office and Tom Wegner to its Barrington & Providence offices

Residential Properties Ltd. is pleased to announce that Sales Representative Patty Peelen has joined the dedicated team of real estate professionals in our Newport office. Patty has been marketing and selling real estate for over 25 years with expertise and integrity in a career that has included owning her own agency. She is licensed in Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Florida and has earned certifications as a buyers agent and historic home specialist. Patty shows clients the gems in each historic neighborhood and village, with a particular fondness for farms and waterfront lots.

change of course

Real estate has always been her passion, especially when it comes to helping buyers find their dream homes. Whether it’s a fixer-upper, a rose-covered cottage by the sea, a historic home in Newport or a summer residence in Little Compton, she is fully committed to advising clients. The family-run, collegial atmosphere at Residential Properties played a significant role in their decision to join the brokerage firm. “In addition to the company’s reputation and position as the #1 agency in Rhode Island, there is a people-first atmosphere here,” said Peelen. “From their administrative support and management to their experienced agents and even their marketing, this company understands the importance of personal connections.”

Originally from Dartmouth, where she sailed her 47ft boat to Buzzards Bay every summer, Peelen now enjoys life in Newport. Prior to her real estate career, she was a cook on charter yachts sailing from Newport and the Caribbean Islands. She is also a member of Sail Newport and the New Bedford Yacht Club, making her affiliated with both the Newport Yacht Club and the Ida Lewis Yacht Club.

The wind in your sales

She is uniquely qualified to extol the virtues of The Ocean State to today’s buyers and sellers. Locals can often be found walking their dog, Brandy, on the beach and sailing on adventures on the water. Following in her parents’ footsteps, she also takes the time to volunteer with the Newport Preservation Society.

As she begins this chapter in her career, she looks forward to sharing her talents with a range of clients. With her love of history and life on the coast, she is looking forward to starting a new year with a new brokerage firm. “As a sailor and broker,Ⓡ I can’t wait for spring,” said Peelen. “Hopefully there will be favorable winds for both the sea and the housing market.”

Tom Wegner to his offices in Barrington & Providence

Residential Properties Ltd. also announced that Sales Representative Tom Wegner has joined the outstanding teams of sales professionals in both our Barrington and Providence offices. He is an established professional who has worked for Lila Delman Compass both as a sales associate and as a former sales manager from the Providence office. As a multi-million dollar real estate agent, he brings a valuable knowledge base, technology and marketing expertise to the company.

Thriving in a family run business

With decades of experience and licensed in both RI and MA, he is able to assist all types of clients whether providing white glove service in the luxury market, advising first time home buyers or making a purchase and sale of commercial real estate. He started out as a sales representative in his family’s New Jersey real estate office in the ’80s. Having lived in New England for over 30 years and acquiring essential skills in leadership development, sales and marketing, Tom brings his impressive talents to RPL’s Barrington and Providence offices.

The decision to switch agencies requires serious thought. For Wegner, the start of a new year seemed like the perfect time to join a brokerage firm with a proven track record, impressive stats, and a collaborative spirit. “I thrive in a family-run business with a real team work environment,” said Wegner. “Residential Properties is definitely that place. I never compete with anyone but myself and genuinely rejoice in the achievements of my colleagues. I spent years developing relationships with agents at Residential before coming over so the transition was very easy. Plus, you can’t go wrong working for the #1 real estate agency in Rhode Island.”

Make friends out of customers

It also offers unique insight into real estate sales, waterfront, antique and historic homes, and pet and senior-friendly living. He enjoys living in Barrington with his wife, a real estate attorney, and an adorable Boston Terrier named Moose. Aside from the occasional trip to his cottage on Peaks Island, Maine, he spends his days working hard, helping neighbors, donating time to local senior centers, and raising funds for local charities.

Clients choose to work with Wegner because of Wegner’s years of experience, ethics, sound advice and unparalleled commitment to service. With a perfect blend of creativity, marketing and negotiation skills, he is ready to help you make your sale or purchase a success. “I look forward to working with some of the best agents in the business,” said Wegner. “My goal is to continue to provide superior service regardless of the price and to help my friends who become customers and my customers who become friends.”
