A win would be…
A win on Saturday would take the racers’ current winning streak to four and keep them unbeaten at home so far this season.
Find the groove
After posting a season-low 28.1 percent at Alabama A&M last Saturday, the Racers returned to their form Wednesday night by going 24-48 from the floor for just 50 percent.
A red-hot performance
Murray State had an impressive 62.5 percent from 3-point range (10-16) against the Skyhawks Wednesday night in what will go down as the fourth-best single-game performance in school history. Coincidentally, the Racers shot 61.5 percent in each of their two games against UT Martin last season, which now ranks as the fifth-best single-game performance in school history.
The Racers returned to form at the free-throw line on Wednesday, shooting a stunning 92.9 percent in a 13-for-14 finish. Katelyn Young led the night’s free-throw efforts with a perfect 8-on-8 in the charity streak.
A historic night in Martin
The Racers’ 19-point win Wednesday was their biggest over the Skyhawks since 2008. The win also marked their first back-to-back wins over UT Martin at the Elam Center since the 2007-08 and 2008-09 seasons. Additionally, it was the first three-game winning streak against UT Martin in the entire series since the 2008-09 and 2009-10 seasons.
